How Much Should CBD Oil Cost?

If there’s anything to be said for certain about CBD products, it’s this: the market is supersaturated with them. Ever since the FDA passed the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018 (also known as the Farm Bill), legalizing CBD derived from hemp, companies all over have been trying to profit from the hype. But how much should CBD oil cost?

First time users are always curious if they’re overpaying, underpaying, or hitting that sweet spot of market value. Here are three ways to judge how much your CBD oil should cost:

How Much Are You Paying Per Mg of CBD?

Most companies charge 8 to 17 cents per mg of CBD oil, which is 10 to 25 times the cost of making the product. In our opinion, if you are paying more than 5 cents per mg, you are paying too much.

How Long Will Your CBD Oil Last?

When buying CBD, many people will decide whether a product is fairly priced simply based on dollars spent–without doing the math. What do we mean by “math”? Think of it like this: when you go to the grocery store and compare products, one product might be “cheaper,” but it has a higher price per unit. The same goes for CBD oil. Cents per milligram is critical.

Rational Hemp Full Spectrum CBD Oil aims to be high quality, affordable, and effective. When evaluating whether a product is fairly priced, be sure to make note of two things: bottle size and concentration.

Our full-size CBD oil bottles hold 1 ounce (30mL) of liquid and have 1mL droppers. We also offer a 15mL bottle, which has a .75mL dropper. Next, look at the product’s mg (milligrams), which refers to the CBD density in the oil solution. At under 4 cents per mg, in comparison to competitors which are priced at 8 to 17 cents per mg, our Rational Hemp bottles offer 2400mg of CBD in 30ml and last 2 to 4 months based on a typical dose of 20 to 40mg.

Is the CBD Oil Full Spectrum?

There are three key kinds of CBD oils— isolate, broad spectrum, and full spectrum. Isolate oils only contain CBD; full-spectrum oils contain all the natural compounds present in the cannabis plant (also known as cannabinoids), and broad spectrum is full spectrum without the THC.

Full spectrum CBD oils create a synergistic effect in the body, delivering all the benefits of the hemp plant. Rational Hemp is a full-spectrum, pesticide free product that has terpenes and phytocannabinoids, meaning it provides a full complement of benefits.

When looking at the cost of CBD oils and other products, check to see whether what you’re buying is full spectrum or not.

Is the CBD Oil High Quality? Is It Independently Lab Tested and Are the Results Prominently Displayed?

The market for CBD oil is just like any other market: consumer driven. But greed shouldn’t get in the way of consumer health or affect the quality of the CBD oil product itself. CBD oils should come with a Certificate of Analysis (COA) that will reveal what’s in the product.

Similar to going to a grocery store, check that the CBD oil is certified lab tested by a third party. Higher concentrations of CBD tend to be more expensive, but that also makes them a better value. You’ll need less in your dropper each time, making the bottle last longer.

Now that the CBD industry is beginning to settle down, rather than upstaging itself with the latest “version,” it’s time to take a look at what we actually need. You should know exactly what you’re paying for, and you should get a fair, rational price.

There are no smoke and mirrors when it comes to Rational Hemp’s CBD oil products. We believe in transparency and fairness, which is why we sell only products that are of the highest caliber but at a reasonable price. How do we compare to others? See for yourself:
