Using cannabis and CBD for wellness isn’t a new trend, but it’s a growing one. But what is “wellness” really, and how do you choose the cannabis or CBD product that will best suit your needs?
Wellness is multi-faceted. According to the National Wellness Institution, there are six different dimensions of wellness that need to be consciously addressed and balanced to build a holistic sense of well-being and fulfillment:
MEDICAL MARIJUANA VS. CBD
Though researchers are still studying the effectiveness of medical marijuana, it has long been used in wellness routines and as a possible treatment for a number of conditions, including cancer, epilepsy, PTSD, pain, and more. Currently, medical marijuana is legal in 33 states and the District of Columbia.
But medical marijuana also comes with high THC content that creates a “high,” which not everyone wants to experience. If you want the holistic wellness benefits without the high, CBD purchased outside of medical marijuana shops may be a better choice for your wellness routine because it contains very low levels of THC (less than 0.3% per federal regulations)—whereas CBD products in medical marijuana shops might contain more THC. Plus, thanks to the 2018 Farm Bill, CBD is legal in all U.S. states and the District of Columbia.
To purchase CBD products legalized under the Farm Bill, you don’t need a special doctor’s note or a medical marijuana pass. It’s more accessible and you won’t have to worry about traveling between states since it’s legal nationwide.
WHAT MAKES RATIONAL HEMP THE BEST CBD FOR WELLNESS CHOICE
Just because a product is labeled as a “CBD” product doesn’t mean it’s low in THC content. If you are looking at CBD products sold in shops where a medical marijuana card is required, be sure to ask about the THC content. CBD products made in mass refineries alongside medical marijuana often have higher THC content and may produce a “high.”
Not everyone wants to experience a high. Many of our customers use CBD as a part of their daily wellness routine, where getting a high could be inconvenient, unpleasant, or problematic to their daily lives. Rational Hemp’s Full Spectrum Hemp Oil contains less than the federal limit of 0.3% THC, making it an ideal CBD choice for wellness. Read more about choosing the best CBD oil >>

DOES A LOWER PRICE MEAN HIGHER VALUE?
When you’re shopping for CBD, it can be tempting to assume that a lower price tag means a better value. If one bottle is $75 and another is $90, then clearly you’re getting more for your money with the $75 bottle… right?
Not necessarily. When you’re looking at CBD, you need to do a little math to find out what you are paying per mg of CBD, the true measure of value. If that hypothetical $75 bottle of CBD contains 600mg of CBD and the $90 bottle contains 2400mg of CBD, the $90 bottle is actually a much better value ($0.0375 per mg) than the $75 bottle ($0.125 per mg)!
Our Full-Spectrum Hemp Extract is full-strength, with 2400mg of CBD–and costs just $0.036 per mg of CBD. In our opinion, if you’re paying more than $0.04 per mg for CBD, then you’re paying too much!
Rational Hemp is regulatory-compliant and contains trace levels of THC under 0.3%. While we know of no instance where a drug test came back positive after using our Hemp Extract, we cannot guarantee this result. Speak to a physician before using CBD if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking prescription medications.
